Las Mondas:

The Mondas are the festivals which are held in the municipality of spanish Talavera de la Reina (Spain) the Saturday after the Holy Week. Are declared to be of National Tourist Interest.

These costumes that are girls are typical for this feast, as the holiday also often malfunction floats,dances ... etc



The mondas of Talavera is a local holiday and comarcal which has survived through time a feast that possibly has a antiquity of near XVI since the origin starts from the roman era, entondes held in honor of the goddess Ceres, and from the year 602, which was christianised in a rite in offering to the Virgin del Prado

The Talavera de la Romana, farming and livestock carrying around offerings to the temple of the goddess Ceres offered the Calathus, a large basket and wide open from the top and narrow at the base which was transported by a cart pulled by two rams, by be the ram the animal dedicated to the goddess Ceres.The Talavera sigio Christian, and still carrying these ofreandas to the hermitage of the Virgin del Prado,in the same manner as in the Roman rite.

The proclamation of the Leno flowery opens the gate of the feasts of the Mondas.Talavera antiguamenta was a hotbed of acts and joy that the people involved and lived the Mondas in many ways. This year has been that Talavera wanted to participate to the maximum extent possible with complementary events within the scheme of their traditional celebrations.
